Consultancy Services for establishment of Resource Centre for wastewater re-use in Karnataka State

The objective of this assignment is to promote and implement wastewater reuse projects by identifying potential of wastewater available, methodologies of treating wastewater, analyse the demand in the secondary cities in the State and develop three projects for implementation.

  • Assessment of preliminary wastewater Re–use potential
  • Identification of potential stakeholders for wastewater re–use
  • Assessment of demand for treated wastewater and willingness to pay
  • Preliminary environmental and social impact assessment
  • List necessary approvals and clearances that may be required to execute the project
  • Prepare project scope, including required volume and quality of treated wastewater
  • Arrive at an indicative cost of capital and operating costs for the proposed project scope, including fixed and variable expenses
  • Assessment of potential tariff for treated wastewater, in line with stakeholder willingness to pay
  • Analyse financial pre–feasibility of project, options for PPP structures, revenue/risk sharing arrangements, roles and responsibilities of project parties, commercial terms and payment mechanisms
  • Preparation of indicative terms of possible PPP projects in the 3 cities
  • Implication of policies having direct/indirect impact on the project
