Developing Smart City Development Plan for Indore City in the State of Madhya Pradesh

The specific objective of Smart City Technical Assistance is to:

  1. a) Support UADD identify required policy/strategy shifts/ changes and new institutions etc. required for development of urban centers as smart cities.
  2. b) Undertake 3–4 feasibility studies each for prioritized areas for identified urban areas for development as smart cities.
  3. c) Support Urban Administration and Development Department (UADD) Government of Madhya Pradesh and concerned local authorities in preparation of necessary work packages (detailed project reports) and providing support in procurement of work packages.
  • Review of domestic and international best practices for ICT / smart solutions related to water supply and wastewater management
  • As–is assessment of Indore.
  • Assess city level data and information gaps and suggest strategy for development of urban information systems for better service delivery.
  • Review of institutional structure for urban governance and management in MP, identifying issues and potential solutions and recommend policy level changes for making cities smarter
  • Recommend smart/innovative solutions measures ensuring decentralization in line with 74th Constitutional Amendment Act
  • Establishing benchmarks for water supply and wastewater management in smart cities.
  • Contribute towards developing a framework for City Reference Framework, Smart City Development Plan, Environmental Sustainability Plan, Disaster Management Plan in consultation with consultant team
  • Provide technical inputs for the respective sectors for preparation of Smart City Development Plan and carrying out project development and feasibility assessment for identified project(s).
  • Any other related tasks identified for Specialist by the Client or the MPUIIP TA Team
